- Do I need a referral from my GP?
- No. Dietitians in the Netherlands are directly accessible, so you can book an appointment without a referral. Some insurers or treatment programmes do ask for one; if in doubt, just get in touch.
- Is the treatment reimbursed?
- Dietetic care is covered by Dutch basic health insurance, up to 3 hours per calendar year. Those hours do count towards your deductible (eigen risico), and the exact reimbursement depends on your policy. Supplementary insurance sometimes covers more.
